University of Bristol - School of Biological Sciences

Reference: 16908

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £33,734 - £52,556 Level b - Level d in Pathway 1

Closing date for applications: 9:00am 09 Feb 2012

Anticipated start date: 01 Oct 2012

The School of Biological Sciences wishes to recruit an exceptional individual with internationally recognised expertise in the field of behavioural biology. We are particularly keen on a researcher who complements existing strengths and who can apply innovative techniques to understanding the mechanisms, function and evolution of animal behaviour. You will have a track record in interdisciplinary research; especially the ability to link theory with empirical approaches.

You will have, or be developing, an international reputation for research and a track record in research income and publication to support this. You will be expected to be or become a research leader, bringing or building your own research group and developing new research avenues with colleagues in both the school and the university at large.

The position forms part of a wider investment in the biological sciences at Bristol, and benefits from location in the new Life Sciences Building, a £50M development to be completed in late 2013.

There are three other posts being advertised in the School of Biological Sciences, Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader in Biological Responses to Global Change (reference 16906), Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader in Sensory Biology (reference 16907) and Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader in Systems Biology Approaches to Plant Water Use (reference 16909).

Interviews for all posts will run on various dates from 29 February through March 2012.
