Integration Project Manager, Corporate Finance, Accounting and Finance Systems

Position Responsibilities:
The Integration Project Manager (IPM) has responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities for all aspects of the Corporate Finance and Financial Systems integration workstream. This includes directing, tracking, and reporting on project activities, issues and risks. This could also include direct project management of one or more integration projects, depending on project size and complexity. This position is one of several workstream-level project manager positions to be hired across various functional areas, including Program and Science Operations; Information Technology; Business Development and Communications; Corporate Finance & Accounting; and Administration. In addition, several project managers may be hired to manage specific projects within an integration workstream, depending on size and complexity of the workstream. The Integration Project Manager supports the Executive Sponsor in performing the day-to-day activities of project management using defined project management methodology and interacts with Executive Champions, Functional Leads, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and the Transformation Management Office (TMO) Liaison. In coordination with the Executive Sponsor, activities include: Identify project team; Define a project charter; Define implementation/transition strategy with knowledge of current “as-is” states; Assist in developing detailed project workplans; Identify dependencies with other projects within and outside of workstream; Identify and log issues and risks and work with others to mitigate risk and resolve issues, escalating either as needed; Identify project requirements and deliverables; Coordinate communications with overarching TMO communications plan; Support project implementation, ensuring timely and high quality deliverables and financial management of the project. Facilitate workstream status meetings, ensuring clear agenda and minutes for each meeting. Provide regular status update, reporting on indicators, and reports to TMO. Other duties as assigned. Fulfills project management responsibilities for integration program workstream. Translates integration opportunities and risks into processes, tools and action. Facilitates people and process, employs critical thinking and uses judgment to frame decisions and make recommendations to Executive Sponsor and TMO Liaison. Acts as primary integration point of contact for Corporate Finance & Accounting. Reports directly to the TMO with dotted line of responsibility to the Executive Sponsor. Coordinates activities of the projects and overall workstream. Interacts extensively with senior management and other staff within both the acquiring and acquired organizations. Develops, adapts and employs tools and processes based on project management theory. Requires strong project management, group facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills. May deal with privileged or confidential information. Will have direct responsibility for Corporate Finance & Accounting project level managers. May supervise the work of external consultants.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Experience: Experience managing large, complex, and multi-threaded projects with demonstrated quality delivery on project objectives; Experience supervising and directing other Project Managers or professional staff; 10-15 years’ experience with Accounting and Financial Management in large organizations; Knowledge of Accounting and financial systems; Experience working with Non-Governmental Organizations preferred; Bachelor’s Degree, with preference for; degrees in Business Administration or equivalent; Strong written and oral communication skills; Strong organizational skills; Experience developing presentations and reports for senior-level audiences.
