HR Business Partner - Group Supply Chain Management (GSCM)

Role Purpose
Challenge and drive performance across the Group Supply Chain Management (GSCM) vertical organisation through exemplary people & organisational practices. Provide HR Business Partnering to Group SCM Director and Senior Leadership Team level. Facilitate delivery of the Vodafone global and corporate functional people and organisational plans in support of Vodafone Group’s strategic objectives. Key focus on organisation effectiveness, talent management & building capabilities.
The Group SCM vertical organisation operates with a team of ca.500 FTEs across all local markets, covering 10bn EUR external spend with 5bn+ EUR going through the Vodafone Procurement Company (VPC), and delivering 1bn EUR year-on-year savings. The team’s return on investment and savings delivery outperforms externally validated World Class benchmarks.
Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities
  1. People and Organisational Planning
· Input to GSCM vertical people and organisation plan that is fully aligned to global and functional strategy
· Drive delivery of functional initiatives on ongoing basis
· Support and deliver functional change and OD activity in business areas
· Input to global change and OD activity where appropriate
· Interface with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with cross-functional change activity
· Input to quarterly organisation reviews
· Deliver against FTE, contractor & employment Opex targets in business areas
· Ensure organisation clarity & alignment in business areas, e.g. RACI, role profiles, role titles
· Drive organisation efficiency in business areas (ensuring compliance with agreed spans & layers targets)

  1. Cultural Change
· Play key role in supporting leaders to live The Vodafone Way
· Leadership of cultural change across GSCM and within Vodafone Procurement Company (VPC) as an unit
· Challenge & improve people policies/processes/practices to ensure alignment with The Vodafone Way and new ways of working (in collaboration with others in Group HR & VOCH)
· Challenge & support leaders in business areas to align behaviours/attitude to The Vodafone Way and new ways of working
· Drive effective use of recognition schemes in business areas to reinforce positive behaviours
  1. Performance and Reward
· Ensure active management of poor performers
· Implement all ‘Performance Driven Reward’ plans (GLTR/I, GSTIP/Bonus etc)
  1. Talent and Resourcing
· Deliver a pipeline of diverse future leaders and accelerate high potential development in functional business areas
· Input to quarterly Talent Reviews across the Corporate Functions & follow through on outcomes in business areas; proactively use ‘talent matrix’; ensure robust talent, succession & scenario plans are in place
· Actively support all talent programmes – Inspire, MBA’s, Graduates, Rising Stars, etc
· Sponsor Global Graduate Programme in business areas and build Vodafone as an employer brand in Luxembourg
· Support Diversity & Inclusion agenda in business areas with primary focus on gender and international diversity
· Key part in resourcing for GSCM and VPC as an entity (in partnership with Resourcing colleagues). Interview & calibrate all executive appointments in business areas
· Play active part in ensuring that resourcing processes are fully aligned to business requirements (attraction, selection, on-boarding, etc)
  1. Leadership and Management Development
· Identify and deliver leadership team effectiveness solutions
· Utilise management development programmes to ensure effective development at key transition points on the management/leadership ladder
· Support 100 day transition coaching for all new executive appointments
· Coach executives across business areas
· Ensure robust management & leadership development at all times
  1. Organisational Capability
· Work with L&D and SCM Academy manager to build critical business and functional capabilities to enable GSCM as a vertical function to deliver against their plans.
· Build capability across the VPC as an entity in accordance with strategic business plans
· Ensure robust induction & core programmes are in place & being effectively used
  1. Communications and Engagement
· Focus the business areas on the Group Strategy and help people to recognise their part in drive performance
· Ensure communication processes are working effectively within business areas
· Actively drive employee advocacy for Vodafone products, services & network
· Focus the business areas on continuously improving employee engagement
  1. Relationship Management and Partnering
· Build a high ‘support & challenge’ relationship with the GSCM leadership team
