During the past few years, Maersk Line has embarked on a major transformation program to fundamentally change the way our business and industry operate. Making it easier for our customers to do business with us is a key element in this.

Our current mission is to replace our existing website by driving the development of web applications for the new maerskline.com. By doing this we will create a solid foundation for taking our customer interactions to a whole new level. To support this initiative we are looking for a Business Analyst who would work with the Application Manager in order to ensure we have a high available application which complies to internal governance. This person would share responsibility with the application manager.

Project Management

You will be responsible for working closely across a number of concurrent deliverables along with managing day to day deliveries. You will act as an efficient partner to the business and establish and maintain a high performing project team. You will work in close cooperation and coordination with the Delivery Manager, respective Business Process Owner functions & Application Managers for different applications.

Through innovation and state-of-the-art IT management processes, you ensure that Maersk Line’s business processes are supported by the best Information Systems in our industry. You aim to reduce the costs of system development, maintenance and support, just as you ensure the continuous improvement of quality and reliability.

You are responsible for the execution of the following tasks:

• Ensure the quality, operational robustness, and stability of the applications.
• Define and communicate guidelines and policies for good IT practice in line with Maersk Line IT guidelines, policies and governance rules.
• Identify and promote innovations that will improve the overall value and cost-effectiveness of Maersk Line IT.
• Manage, control and coordinate IT Maintenance & Support activities.
• Manage and control third party vendors and associated costs. This includes proposals, contracts, deliverables, change requests, service levels, procedures and quality assurance, etc.
• Release Planning and Change Management.

We expect the right candidate to possess the following experiences and characteristics

The ideal candidate holds a relevant Degree combined with experience on managing application. You have gained operational and strategic knowledge on application management & have an interest in improving and driving high availability. In addition, you are able to manage vendors and drive cost efficiency.

You have excellent analytical skills enabling you to analyse problems, provide alternatives and recommendations and implement solutions. You have a self-motivating and pro-active nature and have a structured approach to your tasks. You are able to work effectively under pressure and you possess good stakeholder management and consultation skills. We are looking for an energetic person with an optimistic nature and good sense of humour, who is willing to be part of a multicultural team. You are willing to learn and keep abreast of the latest in the project management methods.
