Administrative Officer, Faculty of Architecture and History of Art

Applications are invited for the post of Administrative Officer assigned to the Faculty of Architecture and History of Art, in the School of Arts and Humanities, to take up appointment as soon as possible.

The principal duties of the role are to manage the administrative support of the Faculty and to help shape and implement policies concerned with effective resource management. There is a key role to play in the implementation of policy in all areas of the Faculty's work, which involves substantial Committee work and includes acting as Secretary to the Faculty Board and liaison with the School of Arts and Humanities and central University bodies.

The successful candidate must be able to: interpret, adapt and implement detailed policies and procedures and communicate them effectively; maintain a proactive approach to the demands of the post; maintain an active awareness of developments in Higher Education (HEFCE, REF, QAA, etc) and in the University; be well organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively; be adaptable and able to learn new skills and perform unfamiliar tasks and be self-motivated and willing to assume responsibilities for a wide variety of complex issues. It is expected that successful candidate will be educated to first degree level.
