12 month, fixed-term contract - York or home-based

The HEA is a national body for enhancing learning and teaching in higher education in the UK. We work with institutions across the higher education system to help bring about change in learning and teaching to improve the outcomes for students. We do this by recognising and rewarding excellent teaching, bringing together people and resources to share best practice and by helping influence, shape and implement policy.

The HEA supports staff in higher education throughout their career from those who are new to teaching through to senior management. We offer services in 28 disciplines throughout the UK and have offices in England, Wales and Scotland. Through our partnership management team we work directly with institutions to understand individual circumstances and priorities and bring together resources to meet them.

The post-holder will develop a strategy to evaluate the impact of research projects to inform further research undertaken by HEA Associates and will broker and support partnerships with external organisations.

You will have autonomy to manage a portfolio of activity, contributing to the development and implementation of the HEA research strategy and will develop funding proposals, where appropriate. You will also seek and promote inter-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary work, while promoting and marketing the work of the HEA both nationally and internationally, through attendance at institutions and conferences, as well as producing articles to raise the profile of the HEA.

To succeed in this role, you will be able to call upon substantial and significant experience of teaching and/or academic staff development in higher education, along with experience of working in a research environment. You will be able to demonstrate experience of developing and delivering workshops, resources and funding proposals, as well as the evaluation of projects while considering the needs of multiple stakeholders. You will be an experienced networker with the ability to influence and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
