NORCAP is a world leading standby roster which consists of 700 highly qualified women and men ready to deploy to international operations at short notice. Through the NORCAP mechanism, we aim to provide those at risk with access to protection and to ensure that their rights are respected throughout all stages of a crisis or disaster. In order to rapidly respond to our partners’ needs NORCAP is currently growing its expert capacity within the area of Child Protection.

    Skills:
Experts in this field should come with prior knowledge and international experience of child protection in emergencies, and should be able to demonstrate where they have ensured that child protection priorities and concerns are coordinated, integrated and addressed within the national, regional and local responses.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 years of professional humanitarian experience in Child Protection (equivalent to the UN P3 level or higher).
  • University degree within a relevant field of study.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English. Arabic, French and Greek is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in highly stressful situations.
  • Strong coordination skills preferably within the UN system.
