Young Professionals Program 
(Assignments in Operations Department)
JOB PURPOSE
To provide assistance in executing ADB's main instruments comprising loans, technical assistance (TA), grants, advice, and knowledge. Complete assigned tasks that are generally non-routine within clearly defined standards. 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The position reports to: Director and/or designated International Staff
The following staff positions may report to the Young Professional: National Staff and Administrative Staff. 
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
a.     Strategy and Planning
  • Assist and participate towards the development of policy and strategy for a specific sector.
  • Apply own complex specialist knowledge to support others in research and analysis.
b.    Project Management
  • Assist and participate in the development, processing and administration of non-complex loans, grants and/or TA projects for a specific sector.
  • Support integration of ADB’s policies and guidelines in the design and implementation of sector projects.
c.     Knowledge Sharing
  • Support and contribute to internal and external training and conferences on a specific sector and other activities for advocacy, dissemination and knowledge building.
  • Assist in development of knowledge products for capacity building including their dissemination. 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A university degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Transport Management, Urban and Regional Planning, Environment, Public Management, or Engineering; preferably at postgraduate level or its equivalent. 
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
  • Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in any of the following fields: agriculture, rural development and food security, education, energy, environment, financial sector development, gender equity, governance and public management, health, public-private partnership, regional cooperation and integration, social development and poverty, transport, urban, and water operations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Not more than 33 years old upon joining ADB
  • Able to work with others of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds
  • No close relatives in ADB
  • International experience working in areas related to ADB operations
