GRAPHIC DESIGNER - COMPILATION OF PROGRAMMES BROCHURE

Organization Background
Windle Trust Kenya was set up in 1977 by Dr. Hugh Austin Windle Pilkington mainly to support needy Kenyan students but also to assist refugees in Kenya. In addition, inspired by his contact with refugees stranded in Kenya, Hugh Pilkington personally assisted refugees to study in Kenya and elsewhere, including British universities. Hugh believed that good education was essential if Africa was to meet the challenges it faced. In 1986 Hugh was tragically killed in a car accident in Canada. Before his death he had made arrangements for his personal estate to be used to set up a foundation to promote the education of refugees and in 1988 the Hugh Pilkington Charitable Trust was established in the UK.
The Hugh Pilkington Charitable Trust (HPCT) and Windle Trust Kenya have continued to pursue and develop Hugh Pilkington's vision. Over the years HPCT has established Windle Trust Uganda. In 2002 HPCT transferred its operations to Windle Trust International (WTI).
The Windle Trust International Federation family comprises: 1. Windle Trust Kenya: based in Nairobi, Kakuma Refugee Camp and Dadaab Refugee Camp 2. Windle Trust Uganda: based in Kampala and in Gulu, Northern Uganda 3. Windle Trust International: main offices in Oxford, UK: Sudan and Southern Sudan Programmes Summary
WTK supports and implements education interventions in Kakuma and Dadaab Refugee camps and in the immediate host communities guided by strategic plans that are formulated every five years to clarify strategic intents aligned to the prevailing situation analysis in the context within which we work while remaining true to the values and beliefs of our founder.
The organization is currently in the final year of implementation within its 2011-2015 strategic focus and has already formulated its 2016-2020 strategic plan based on an evaluation of previous performance and anchored on its desire to improve its relationship with the people it serves, its partners as well as its internal structures.
Our Programming in Secondary Education, Girl Child education, Higher Education, English language Training, Scholarships and tertiary education have cumulatively contributed to improved life chances for marginalised boys and girls in the refugee camps and the host communities. These are the building blocks in which we shall continue to work with in delivering transformative education to our beneficiaries while guided by our core values of Trust, Respect, Accountability, Commitment and Equity. Our programming principles remain anchored on the need of Value for Money; Do no Harm, Child protection and sustainability.
