ACF is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger, misery and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for ACF in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.

ACF-Spain seeks to expand its team of Watsan coordinators for current and future vacancies in those geographic areas which are competence of ACF.

DESCRIPTION

In charge of support and follow-up of the activities of hydrological and sanitation projects.

TASKS

  • Technical supervision of Water and Sanitation activities in the collectives centres: Design tender for rehabilitation of water and sanitation systems, supervision of the subcontracted company, follow-up of water quality, design of community Based Management system for water points and latrines management.
  • Responsible of Water and Sanitation activities in the collective centres.
  • Implementation of emergency water supply and sanitation activities according to the ACF WASH Policy.
  • Monitoring of implemented activities.
  • Staff Management: recruiting, managing, evaluating.
  • Coordination and reporting within the Head Quarter: elaborating report, capitalization…
  • Definition of new programmes / proposal writing.
  • In close collaboration with the Head of Base and the Country Director, follow up the expenses of the project budget lines.
  • Responsible for the good functioning of the WASH logistics.
  • Relations with local authorities and partners.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Technical profile and technical experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene sector, especially in rehabilitating water and sanitation systems in complexes.
  • Humanitarian field experience: 3 years of work in humanitarian aid organizations in the field.
  • A first experience within ACF network will be a strong advantage.
  • Familiar with tenders and subcontracted companies.
  • Demonstrable experience in intervention in emergencies in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene projects.
  • Autonomy and capacity to manage stressful situations.
  • Availability to start and travel at short notice.
  • English and French or Spanish.
  • I.T. skills.
  • Initiative and problem solving skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Motivation and involvement.

  • Retribution from 1500€ to 2350€ gross per month according to experience and responsibilities.

  • Travel and accident insurance and repatriation on account of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

For candidates who are not in Madrid the first interview will be through telephone. Face to face interviews to be held in Madrid. Travel costs are initially on account of candidates, they will be reimbursed just in case of successful applications.
