Technical Web Internship (CSS, PHP, HTML)

Location Washington, DC


Summary

The Web Intern will report to the Web & New Media Manager and assist in a variety of technical web projects. Through hands-on training, the Web Interns can learn strategy and tactics for web and email marketing that can be broadly applied to the nonprofit sector and the Internet in general. The scope of this internship will be tailored to the intern’s strengths and experience, building on the individual’s skills.




Responsibilities

1) SFCG Website – a manual HTML/CSS site edited via Dreamweaver

  • Participate in web redesign and content analysis
  • Post page updates
  • Assist in restructuring

2) External Services’ PHP and CSS coding

  • Assist with branding our PHP pages via CSS to be in line with Salsa Labs – including the subscribe/unsubscribe and event registration templates
  • Similar tasks as needed



Minimum Qualifications

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Solid Internet research skills and the ability to pick up new skills quickly
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HTML, CSS and PHP
  • Proficiency with Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Independent worker not needing close supervision
  • Self-starter; organized; detail-oriented
  • Experience with browser-based email blast services are important: specifically Salsa, but Constant Contact experience could be applied to this



Salary Please note this is an unpaid internship, but college credit is available.
