Technical Manager (35hrs) Higher Education Academy

The Academy's Information Services team have recently conducted a major programme of upgrade and replacement across all of the HEA's IT systems. We are looking to recruit a Technical Manager to ensure that these systems, network and communications technologies are fully secure, have high availability and that processes and procedures such as availability management and disaster recovery are in place.

Experience of maintenance, configuration and development, on a VMWare platform, of Microsoft server and client environments including Windows Server 2003 / 2008, Active Directory, SQL Server and Sharepoint is essential, as is experience of configuring remote access systems. Experience of Microsoft Lync / OCS, Microsoft ISA / TMG / UAG Server, Microsoft Operations Manager /Configuration Manager and network infrastructure devices would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to take responsibility for the resolution of tasks, projects and issues, be capable of working proactively and be skilled in mapping system specifications to user and organisational requirements.
