Technical Advisor, Case Management (Malaria & Child Survival Department)

PSI seeks qualified candidates for the position of Technical Advisor, Case Management to be based in Washington DC and report to the Senior Technical Advisor for Integrated Case Management. The mission of the Malaria and Child Survival (MCS) department is to provide PSI’s country programs with relevant support to improve child health. Launching and scaling up integrated case management (ICM) is one of three MCS strategic focus areas for the next five years.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support PSI affiliates to design projects, develop strategies and write proposals with the aim of launching and scaling up evidence based ICM with focus on the private and community sectors
• Develop quality standards for ICM
• Develop and implement new systems for monitoring quality standards for ICM
• Develop treatment algorithms for different cadres of private and community providers
• Provide technical assistance to PSI affiliates to support the development and use of quality standards in child health programs.
• Develop and disseminate case studies to demonstrate lessons learned on monitoring quality standards for case management.
• Guide the evolution of PSI’s ICM strategy based monitoring results and an evolving policy and funding context.
• To be the MCSD Country Focal person for Cambodia, Myanmar, PNG and China

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Relevant post-graduate degree (PhD, MPH, MSc, etc.) or equivalent experience; MD preferred
• 5+ years relevant professional experience
• 2+ years working in a developing country context
• Understanding of international child health policy and practice
• Extensive knowledge in monitoring and evaluation of public health programs
• Ability to train and develop capacity in regional and country-level staff
• Fundraising experience with international donors, corporations and foundations
• Ability to effectively work with decision makers to generate actionable research
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Fluency in English required; French is preferred
