Team Lead - Materials and Corrosion (Westhollow Technology Center)

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the regional Materials and Corrosion discipline in upstream and downstream,including SME/PTE positions
  • Manage business value delivery of staff located in the WTC offices within the Americas Region
  • Provide technical leadership and high value added technical services,review and approval of services as a subject matter expert
  • Ensure resource planning and customer management activities are aligned to high value activities and top business requirements
  • Contribute to strategic planning, recruitment strategy, technical portfolio planning and skill development and retention strategy development and execution
  • Promote,support and develop strategies for the demonstration and deployment of new technologies in key businesses
  • Contribute to excellence in knowledge management and sharing in the Global DG and discipline including effective implementation of Lessons Learned, standards, and best practices from operations and projects supporting the Global Discipline Head
  • Establish and maintain a positive mindset for safety,other HSSE areas,diversity and inclusiveness and legal compliance and ensure that all appropriate standards are complied with
  • Support the Americas Regional Manager and the Global Discipline Head in MMI to ensure effective global work-sharing,staff development,knowledge management and support to strategic initiatives
  • Provide technical leadership and assure technical accuracy/due-diligency for high quality decisions with indept technical knowledge with mastery competencies
  • Coach and develop staff in the team and in the Americas region
  • Member of the Regional MMI Team contributing to and/or responsible for implementing strategy and directives agreed at that level
  • Drive the regional work planning,distribution and delivery of services across all business sectors
  • Provide team supervision per Shell People guidelines for supervisors including staff targets
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts / Principle Technical Experts to ensure that consistent technical standards and competencies are developed & maintained in the region
  • Serve as the TA1 authority where this is delegated from the MMI Manager (TA1)
  • Work of the M&C group includes: development and implementation of corrosion control methodologies,EP,DSM and/or Gas process know-how,corrosion monitoring and modeling technologies,materials selection and philosophy,integrity management,failure investigation and analysis,materials properties and analysis


Requirements:
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical, Corrosion, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering Engineering. Graduate degree a plus
  • Minimum 15 (fifteen) years of experience in the oil industry
  • Demonstrated experience in M&C competencies
  • Demonstrated experience working on diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders demands and issues on a Global scale
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
