1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB 684 Vol 29 of 16 August 2006 and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website.

2. The Southern African Community (SADC) has received a grant from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of “Strengthening Institutions for Risk Management of Trans-boundary Animal Diseases in SADC Region (SADC TADS)” Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this grant will be applied to eligible payments under the contracts for Supply and Delivery of Analytical Laboratory Equipment, Ancillary Equipment, Chemicals, Consumables and Reagents destined to Angola, Malawi, Mozambique and Tanzania.

Bidders may bid for one or more Lots. Bidding for Partial or incomplete Lot will not be considered.

3. The SADC TADS Project now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply and Delivery of Analytical Laboratory Equipment, Ancillary Equipment, Chemicals, Consumables and Reagents destined to Angola, Malawi, Mozambique and Tanzania.

www.sadc.int. Kindly also note that no fee is being charged for these bidding documents.

6. Bids clearly marked “Tender for the Supply and Delivery of Analytical Laboratory Equipment, Ancillary Equipment, Chemicals, Consumables and Reagents destined to Angola Malawi, Mozambique and Tanzania” must be delivered to: The Project Procurement Expert, SADC TADS Project, P/Bag 0095, Sebele, Gaborone, Botswana on or before 12.00hrs Botswana Time on Tuesday 28 February 2012 (extended by 2 weeks from Monday 13 February 2012) and must be accompanied by a security of Five Thousand United States Dollars (US$5000) for each Lot (Lot 1, 2, 3 and 4).

7. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend at 12.30 hrs Botswana Time on Tuesday 28 February 2012 (extended by 2 weeks from Monday 13 February 2012) in the Conference Room of the SADC TADS Project office, Sebele, Botswana. LATE BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
