The primary purpose of the Superintendent Geoscientific Data Management role is to provide functional knowledge and leadership for collection, custodianship, maintenance and deliver geo-scientific data. Evaluation, geotechnical and hydrogeological drilling data collection and custodianship, environmental data collection and custodianship, geo-scientific system and database development and mentoring of a group of Specialists will be components of the position. The role will also include leading a small team.
Key accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to:
* Providing leadership in the activities of identification, collection, storage, validation, cataloging, and publishing of the data required by the business.
* Ensuring that infrastructure and IS&T support issues are managed in a proactive manner.
* Identifying, requesting and managing the operating and capital budget required for the above activities.
* Providing a safe, fair and rewarding work environment for the team and ensure that administrative expectations are met.
* Mentoring and coaching other Resource Development employees.
* Project supervision and management of technical and systems development consultants.
* Writing technical reports regarding our systems, processes and data structures.
* Participating in and driving system and process improvement, embracing existing and new technologies.
It is essential that you hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Geology, Geo-science, Mining or Computing/IT. You will have a demonstrated history of providing database solutions to meet customer needs and have project management experience. The successful applicant will have a proven record in establishing, building and maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders.
