Strategic Philanthropy Internship

Location Washington, DC


Summary

The Strategic Philanthropy interns provide research, administrative and logistical support to the Strategic Philanthropy team. Interns report to the Strategic Philanthropy Associate, but work closely with all members of the Department. The interns are considered an integral part of the Strategic Philanthropy Department and are included in weekly staff meetings and many strategy sessions.




Responsibilities
  • Online research related to potential donors and sources of funding;
  • Assist in design and production on fundraising-specific communications;
  • Assist the Strategic Philanthropy staff with their work;
  • Attend relevant public meetings in Washington and report back to the Department or others when requested;
  • Assist with website maintenance;
  • Update computerized database of donors and prospects; and,
  • General administrative tasks as needed.



Minimum Qualifications
  • Current BA or MA student with a keen interest in International Relations, Conflict Studies, Fundraising, Writing, or a related area;
  • Written and spoken fluency in English;
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet Search Engines); and,
  • Ability to commit to an internship with SFCG for a minimum of 4 months.



Salary This is an unpaid internship.
