Solution Architect EMEA

This role is directly responsible for liaising with the European BRMs to ensure the successful delivery of projects within the European region. This role will assist in the delivery of Global / Local initiatives, ensuring that solutions are fit for purpose plus always ensuring that any initiative does not impact negatively on Diageo’s Global Landscape. Purpose of Role Build and operate a strong working relationship with the European BRMs to support the successful delivery of Global / Local initiatives within the European markets. Work closely with all towers within the Architecture & Engineering structure to ensure that all solutions are fit for purpose and offer minimal risk to the Diageo business. Top Accountabilities Proactive engagement with European BRMs Provide advice and guidance on fit for purpose solutions Governance of IT partners to ensure that the solutions delivered are aligned to the defined operational requirements of the associated system. Quality Assurance of delivered technical solutions Input into ongoing solution architecture strategy for Diageo Qualifications and experience required Significant knowledge of information technology processes and controls Strong ITIL understanding Significant analytical and critical thinking skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills enabling candidate to prepare and present recommendations to senior management Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently to work under pressure to meet tight time commitments Strong financial management experience Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with Information Technology and Business personnel Barriers to Success in Role Lack of functional and people leadership Poor stakeholder management, particularly when dealing with global systems Poor partner / supplier management, including lack of governance Inability to communicate technical issues to the business
