Seminars and Advertising Executive

Role purpose

To work on FTA Seminars and Conferences event bookings, meeting the event targets for income and numbers. To administer advertising bookings for Freight magazine. To assist on the administration of the FTA Skills Challenges. To provide back up for the Membership Development team as required.

Duties

  • To telephone all leads received for relevant campaigns and to make or take at least 40 calls per day.
  • To assertively pursue the relevant income through follow-up calls diarised on Sales Logix.
  • To make sure that relevant notes are logged onto Sales Logix.
  • To work with the Marketing and Sales teams to reach the targeted income for the campaign.
  • To involve the Membership Development Managers and Sector Heads where necessary.
  • To liaise with the Sponsorship Manager, Seminar Manager and Marketing Department regarding feedback.
  • To think of ideas for new campaigns and then develop these ideas with the Sponsorship Manager and Marketing department.
  • To take personal responsibility for keeping up-to-date with policy issues by reading press releases and briefing documents.
  • To take personal responsibility for keeping up-to-date with FTA products and services.
  • To ensure that all relevant administration is kept up to date and dealt with promptly and efficiently. Also that call and income statistics are fed to Marketing as well as the Seminar Manager.
  • To attend and contribute to training sessions and on occasion travel, and spend time away from home overnight to attend events and Seminars either individually or as part of the team.
  • To assist and administer bookings for Freight Magazine including invoicing.
  • To assist with the administration of the FTA Skills Challenges.

Requirements

  • Candidates should be confident and self-motivated salespeople, demonstrating a mature attitude.
  • They must be able to demonstrable numeric, literacy and communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • They should be computer literate and possess a practical and methodical approach to work, with a positive work ethic.
  • Candidates demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm to learn and progress their knowledge of the FTA and its products and services.
  • Experience of CRM systems is desirable.
