As a result of our recent acquisition of the exciting Jabal Sayid Copper Project in Saudi Arabia, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Processing General Foreman.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Initially, the Processing General Foreman will play a vital role in ensuring that the concentrator is ready for production at the Jabal Sayid Copper Project. On commencement of operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for all the concentrator’s production activities. This is a unique chance for an experienced foreman to be there right from the start, build the skills of your team on a brand new project while working for a strong global mining company with a history of success.
The position also has the following accountabilities and functions:
· Ensure that all Processing employees are put through the site safety training program
· Develop standard operating procedures and ensure that all Processing Department employees are trained in these
· Develop a Processing training program and manage its effectiveness for Processing employees
· Arrange in-house training from Saudi training providers
· Ensure that all employees are developed as per the guidelines of the company Training & Development program
· Monitor employee’s progress through the training and development program
· Monitor the employee development plans
· Ensure that all scheduled training is conducted on time
· Ensure that all training is recorded on the site’s training database
· Liaise with the employees in regard to development issues
· Liaise with T&D/HSE to ensure an understanding of the work and safety requirements.
· Develop the work force to site HSE standards
· Ensure work place assessments are carried out
· Implement and promote the Bariq Safety Procedures and Programs to ensure own safety and the safety of all others in the workplace.
· Ensure the safety of all personnel through diligent monitoring of hazards, implementation of JSA system, safety policies and controls
· Record evidence of all maintenance employees attending regular safety meetings
· Ensure that any safety incidents or accidents are reported within the agreed time frame
· Implement regular safety audits and develop acceptable compliance levels against benchmarks
· Write and submit monthly training reports for the Processing department
ESSENTIAL POSITION CRITERA
As a minimum to be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications, experience and expertise:
  • At least 12 years experience in the mining industry with a minimum of 5 years at General Foreman level within a concentrator environment
  • Previous supervisory experience in a mine in a developing country
  • A certificate in workplace training and assessment or equivalent
  • Previous commissioning experience
  • Experience of designing training packages
  • Knowledge of Safety Management systems
  • Excellent communication skills – can relate to all employees and managers and develop and maintain sound working relationships
  • Superb organisational skills – can work methodically to successfully meet deadlines
Candidates with the following experience and skills will also be highly regarded:
  • Highly developed initiative and problem solving skills – can identify problems and proactively resolve them
  • A high level of attention to detail – can analyse information and identify errors and gaps
  • A high level of computer literacy
· Experience working in a mining environment within a Muslim country.
· Knowledge of inventory control software, MS Office and Pronto
· Classroom presentation skills
· Understanding of Arabic

The Jabal Sayid Copper Project is located in a safe and secure area approximately 310km to the north-east of Jeddah. We have excellent accommodation and facilities onsite. This role is FIFO (Fly in – fly out) on a 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off basis.
