Common Essential Duties & Resp. • Lead and participate in high-level standardization activities for Samsung Electronics • Participate in the high-level standardization activities of key standards bodies and attend a range of standardization for coordination and issue resolution • Follow standardization activities in teleconferences and face-to-face meetings • Work with business groups inside Samsung to formulate company positions on standardization activities and monitor a number of standardization efforts Background / Experience • Possess strong leadership skills, past experience in influencing standards and should have a view of the business perspective of the consumer devices from either AV, mobile or service markets. • Convergence technologies between consumer devices and services • History of leadership/influence in standardization environments. • An understanding of the business/technical perspectives of convergence in devices. Necessary Skills / Attributes • BS in Computer Science • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in convergence, upcoming internet technologies and working with product groups or with product strategy groups. • Experience in R&D or proof of concept project environments • Experience with managing multiple initiatives simultaneously • Experience with common convergence standards such as Web services, HTTP, UPNP, DLNA • Experience with representing companies on Board of Directors style of activities • Experience working with multi-cultural and distributed teams to define direction and lead initiatives.
