Press Officer, based in Regent's Park

Circa £27k

The Zoological Society of London is a charity dedicated to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. Through our captive breeding programmes and our scientific research and conservation work in the field, we are making a vital difference in the fight to save species from extinction.

We are looking for someone to join our busy Press Office in London, based mainly at ZSL London Zoo. This enthusiastic and resourceful team member will focus on the field conservation work of ZSL, along with the scientific research carried out by our Institute of Zoology.

A keen interest in conservation and/or science is beneficial, but an eye for a story and the ability to make complex concepts understandable is the real key.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, and with sound experience in journalism or PR, you will be confident in dealing with journalists from the national press, TV and radio. You will need a keen news sense, a proven track record in spotting and shaping stories, and be used to working to tight deadlines. Excellent communication and organisational skills together with a flexible approach are necessary. A full driving licence is required.
