Peninsula Medical School, within the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry, has grown rapidly from a relatively new medical school to a major centre for education and research in medicine seeking to be competitive within the Top 15 UK medical schools. Associate Research Fellows and Research Fellows in Evidence Synthesis (4 posts)

These are exciting opportunities to join the newly formed national NIHR School for Public Health Research at PCMD, a leading academic centre with recognised excellence in applied public health research.

Implementing health promotion in schools: Two posts are based in Exeter where you will work together to undertake all the relevant tasks associated with conducting a systematic review and evidence synthesis of diverse research evidence, in order to assess what factors influence the effective implementation of health promotion in school settings in the UK.

Health benefits of conservation activities: A further two posts are based in Truro where you will undertake all the relevant tasks associated with conducting a systematic review and evidence synthesis of diverse evidence in order to assess the broad health impacts of participation in conservation/ environmental enhancement activities.

Research Fellow in Evidence Synthesis
We are seeking to appoint one further researcher in evidence synthesis based in Exeter in health services research for PenCLAHRC (the National Institute of Health Research's (NIHR) Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care in the South West). The key purpose of the post is to lead and support evidence synthesis and systematic reviews on the wide variety of topics being taken forward within PenCLAHRC.

Associate Research Fellow in Systematic Review
You will support the work of PenTAG, an internationally recognised centre in Exeter for systematic review and evidence synthesis for policy making (http://sites.pcmd.ac.uk/pentag/).You will be the main researcher on a project that aims to adapt and evaluate an important new approach to systematic review called 'realist review'. This review approach will be used to explain better the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of shared care models of care delivery.

Associate Research Fellow in Applied Health Research
You will support the work of PenTAG, an internationally recognised centre for systematic review and evidence synthesis for policy making (http://sites.pcmd.ac.uk/pentag/).
You will be the main researcher for the project evaluating the uptake and impact of the TREND statement on public health research and publications, and explaining variations in the statement's uptake and impact.

Research Fellows / Associate Research Fellow - Systematic review of psychosocial interventions for ADHD in school settings (3 posts)
These posts will involve quantitative reviews of effectiveness & cost-effectiveness and qualitative reviews about factors that may enhance or impede the effectiveness of interventions. You identify and select papers meeting the inclusion criteria, carry out the data extraction and quality appraisal of identified papers and synthesise the findings from different studies. You will be based within the PenCLAHRC Evidence Synthesis Team and Child Mental Health Group in Exeter and will be part of a small team working on this particular project.
