Key Responsibilities:

· Own and drive the end-to-end Terminal Partnering efforts within the LOC scope. Ensure that, internally, TPP is imbedded in all relevant processes and, externally, Maersk is considered a forerunner in terms of terminal / liner process alignment and thus receives preferential treatment.

· Own the Terminal Implementation Plans (TIPs) set up between the TPP project and the terminals within the LOC scope. Ensure structured follow-up and delivery of the action items under Maersk Line scope of responsibility.

· Ensure TIP quality. Continuously develop the TIPs to ensure they reflect both current state within the LOC terminals relative to ramp-up curves and give a true view of the potential still to be realized.

· Implement and maintain a performance management system that ensures sustainable excellent execution and/or immediate reaction/improvements where necessary.

· Foster and continuously develop a mindset of continuous improvement, chiefly within the TPP organisation but also within the Maersk Line departments interacting with the terminals and/or the TPP organisation.

· Foster and continuously develop a PEX mindset and ensure the organisation uses relevant PEX and project management tools and methodologies in its working processes and communication both internally and externally.

· Drive first-class relationship management with key external and internal stakeholders, delivering the ‘soft side’ of the TPP efforts - mindset change both internally and externally. Be an ambassador for the TPP efforts within the LOC

· Establish and maintain excellent relationship with relevant stakeholders in ports within LOC scope at decision maker and management level. Active ‘lobby-work’ supporting the ML strategy of reliability and ‘on time delivery’.

· Sponsor and mentor improvement projects with aim to support project teams with funding, coaching, opening doors internally and externally in order to reach desired results.

· Execute KAIZEN and cooperate with Master Navigators in other LOC’s in order to share best practices with the goal to realize the vision of ‘standard excellent operational execution’ for ML’s vessels.

· Align, improve, drive and ensure excellent cooperation between separate functional desks in LOC to secure proper handovers and process results.

· Align, improve, drive and ensure KPIs and SLAs are compatible and support reliability goals and requirements.

· Inspire, motivate, coach and lead Navigator team in LOC and key strategic ports.

Key Performance Measurements:

Performance against objectives will be measured based on mutually agreed KPI’s developed for the position. These will be established, agreed upon and aligned with the overall Terminal Efficiency function’s KPIs. However, until this alignment has been completed the role will be measured against the following criteria:

· Reduction in port stay. (Target: 30% = 3). Measured against 2010 baseline for terminals in geographic LOC scope in line with the TPP roll-out plan, adjusted for move count as per separate measurement principles.

· Timely TIP / waterfall realisation on port level (Target: TIP at handover realised = 3). Expanded TIP items to be assessed subjectively.

· Area and terminal specific KPI’s on GSP performance, Arrival/Departure process, Maersk Line data quality and handovers and terminal efficiency (Target and Measurement to be set at handover)

· Stakeholder management (Measured subjectively based on buy-in from terminal, TPP peers and Centre Project Management Office)

· EES score (Target to be set in line with LOC performance)

Position Specifications:

· English and Spanish is a must. Portuguese a definite plus.

· Proven track record of Leadership experience with direct reports

· 8 years of Vessel, Terminal or Operational background with analytical skills to see and influence key parameters in a complex operational set up and/or

· 8 years experience in negotiation and stakeholder management roles with proven track record and/or

· 8 years of Project Management experience with track record for large change or transformation projects

Plus:

· Excellent English/Spanish verbal/written communication and presentation skills

· Project and Change management experience

· A driven self-starter, able to make the tough decisions

· Endurance and patience to implement ‘excellent’ solutions.
