Manager - Utility Detection and Mapping Cardno

Cardno AUS is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team in our Sydney Office. Our Cardno AUS business provides accurate mapping of existing underground utilities performed during the project design process. Subsurface Utility Engineering can help utility owners, designers, engineers and contractors avoid costly conflicts or project delays.

Applicants need to possess the following skills and experience:

• Minimum 3 years local experience within civil/ construction industry
• Have knowledge of utility investigation technologies, such as Electromagnetic, GPR, vacuum excavation, basic surveying and CAD
• Experience in civil engineering is beneficial (Not essential)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills that will assist in maintaining positive relationships when liaising with staff and clients
• Proven ability in management, leadership and negotiating skills in order to effectively lead and mentor a team
• Experienced knowledge of regulatory frameworks, systems and legislative compliance
• Experience in project management, preparing scope of work statement, estimating, record keeping and basic civil and CAD capabilities
• Demonstrated initiative and problem solving ability
• Willingness to learn and be flexible to undertake a range of roles and duties

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Co-ordinate and lead a team that is able to integrate ideas and solve problems that will benefit the overall presentation of all projects
• Liaise with staff and clients
• Prepare and Review utility reports, plans, etc
• Ensure that company and client deadlines, commitments and expectations are managed appropriately in the given time frame and budget
• Management of OH&S requirements
