Librarian: Cataloguing & Metadata - Library Services Division

Purpose

To implement effective ways of organising and making accessible the Library’s information resources


Requirements

A 3 year Bachelor’s Degree, with 1 year Post-graduate Library Diploma or equivalent (i.e. 4 years of study) PLUS 4 years’ relevant experience
OR
A 3 year Library Degree with 5 years' of relevant experience.

Such relevant experience should include:-

  • Having worked in a computerised academic and/or research library
  • Previous exposure to IT applications and electronic library & information tools.
  • At least 2 years’ previous supervision experience.

Remuneration

Pension / Provident fund (contributory) total annual cash: R250,941
Total annual package: Approximately R343,140

Provident fund (non-contributory) total annual cash: R236,562
Total annual package: Approximately R342,487

(Annual Remuneration Adjustment for 2012 not included in the above scales)
