U.S. Soccer Overview
Founded in 1913, U.S. Soccer has helped chart the course for soccer in the United States for almost 100 years as the governing body of the sport. In this time, the Federation’s mission statement has been simple and clear: to make soccer, in all its forms, a preeminent sport in the United States and to continue the development of soccer at all recreational and competitive levels.

Brief Narrative Overview
Assist two-person legal department with legal research projects and other legal matters.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Legal research: Various research projects (for example, researching licensing issues, antitrust, reviewing Federation contracts and the like). 50% of time.
• Governance: Assist with issues related to internal bylaws and policies. 15% of time.
• Office organization: Basic administrative assistance, including legal filing (requiring a need to review and understand documents). 10% of time.
• Assistance with other legal issues and projects as assigned. 25% of time.

Education, Work Experience, Special Skills/Knowledge Required
Excellent written and oral communications skills required. Must have at least one year completed in law school. Excellent legal research skills required; knowledge of Word and Excel helpful.
