Laboratory Assistant (2 yr contract) - Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology

Purpose

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all glassware and equipment used in undergraduate practicals are decontaminated, washed, dried, sterilised and stored in such a way that they are available for use when needed; the incumbent is also required to undertake other general tasks as stipulated below.

Requirements

Grade 12 with a Science subject plus 2 years relevant experience OR Grade 10 plus 4 years relevant experience where relevant includes: -

Previous experience working in a laboratory environment (preferably within a science department) Previous cleaning experience (preferably either in a lab or cleaning glassware)Candidates who are studying towards a formal qualification will be at a significant advantage
