Project Management

As Project Manager you will independently manage projects according to delivery on time and budget. You will act as an efficient partner to the business and establish and maintain a high performing project team. The position entails vendor management, budget control and ensuring relevant documentation according to agreed methodology and framework. You will work in close cooperation and coordination with the Delivery Manager, respective Business Process Owner functions & Application Managers for different applications.

You will be a part of a dynamic and efficient team within Maersk Line IT and explore into key business processes to obtain understanding of the complex work processes ongoing in the global organisation. You will obtain a broad understanding of the Maersk business and processes from high level down to the most detailed level, acquire/or develop further advanced project management skills which will be useful to you also in non-IT projects and you will get exposure to development and implementation of cutting edge technology and work flow tools plus manage the lifecycle from idea to implementation of the IT tool.

You are responsible for the execution of the following tasks:

• Define and communicate guidelines and policies for good IT practice in line with Maersk Line IT guidelines, policies and governance rules.
• Manage, control and coordinate IT Maintenance & Support activities.
• Manage and control third party vendors and associated costs. This includes proposals, contracts, deliverables, change requests, service levels, procedures and quality assurance, etc.
• Release Planning and Change Management.

We expect the right candidate to possess the following experiences and characteristics

The ideal candidate holds a master degree or other relevant formal certification (e.g. PMI or Prince 2) in IT project management. However, actual and relevant experience with medium to large size complex IT projects is more important. We are looking for Project Managers with experience at all levels, preferably more than 2 projects but can use good and motivated talents at entry level as well. Experience working in large regional or global companies as well as a good understanding of the processes involved in international shipping and logistics is preferred.

You are able to effectively express and present ideas/information to all layers within the organisation, both verbal and written in fluent English. You have excellent analytical skills enabling you to analyse problems, provide alternatives and recommendations and implement solutions. You make timely decisions to meet requirements, timeline and expectations. You have a self-motivating and pro-active nature and have a structured approach to your tasks. You are able to work effectively under pressure and you possess good vendor relation management skills. We are looking for an energetic person with an optimistic nature and good sense of humour, who is willing to be part of a multicultural team.
