Tropicana is seeking a well-organised, highly motivated IT Administrator to help manage the site's IT&T systems. The applicant must have excellent troubleshooting skills, good technical aptitude and the ability to learn on the job. The role requires an ability to work alone and unsupervised at times, as well as with a small team across a number of other sites. While technical skills are essential, good people skills are equally important in this complex and diverse role.

Accountable to the Service Desk Coordinator, your accountabilities will include:

• Assisting with the maintenance of the Tropicana computer network, including hardware, operating systems and all software;
• Desktop support to a rapidly growing staff of 50+ users of widely varying technical proficiency;
• Housekeeping and maintenance tasks on 50+ workstations;
• Supporting TV and telephone infrastructure in a large (100+ rooms) and growing accommodation facility.
• Assisting in the development of site infrastructure, procedures and work practices as the project develops

The successful applicant will:

• Have at least three years experience in a similar role, with a tertiary qualification in IT with a network administration / support focus;
• possess strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills;
• have the ability to work within a team and with staff across all levels of the organisation;
• be able to follow detailed instructions and troubleshoot and resolve technical issues unsupervised; and
• be able to prioritise tasks and manage your time well.

Applicants with the below with be highly regarded:

• certification in Microsoft or Cisco,
• previous exposure in the mining/resource industry at a remote location,
• experience in dealing with mid-size corporate networks, MATV networks, supporting MS software especially Windows 7 and Office 2007 to 2010
