Investment Analyst Location: Accra, Ghana

CARANA seeks Investment Analysts for a pending USAID project that will focus on facilitating agriculture investment in Northern Ghana.

Duties:

  • Deal origination; work with COP to identify potential agricultural investment opportunities within the rice, maize and soya value chains in Northern Ghana;
  • Analyze pipeline of opportunities, conduct due diligence and recommend viable deals;
  • Deal structuring; work with investment fund and portfolio companies to structure investments;
  • Deal facilitation;
  • Ensure portfolio meets financial and social impact requirements and ongoing monitoring of financial performance of portfolio companies.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to Northern Ghana occasionally.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience in the above duties: deal origination, analysis, due diligence, structuring and facilitating;
  • Prior work experience in commercial banks (lending/investing), private equity fund, social impact fund or similar;
  • Familiarity with agriculture value chains and markets in West Africa;
  • BS, Masters Degree preferred or equivalent work experience in a business related field.
