Introduction

The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria is seeking an individual for the position of Human Resources Clerk in the Human Resource Office (HRO). The position is full-time and closes January 9, 2012.

Qualifications Required: NOTE: ALL APPLICANTS MUST ADDRESS EACH SELECTION CRITERION DETAILED BELOW WITH SPECIFIC AND COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION SUPPORTING EACH ITEM. Items 1- 6 are ALL REQUIRED

1.
Completion of secondary (high) school is required.
2. A minimum of one year progressively responsible office experience in a demanding and high-profile customer-service or human resources office is required.
3. English level III (good working knowledge) reading/writing/speaking is required.
4. Knowledge of standard office management procedures, use of office machines and a good understanding of host government procedures as it pertains to accreditation and visa processing is required. Familiarity with host country prevailing practices and customs as they apply to non-SA citizens, particularly diplomats.
5. Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills in order to deal effectively with a broad range of individuals is required.
6. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite 2007. (This will be tested)

Job Specification

Basic Function of Position:

The incumbent provides support and clerical assistance on the American portfolio. The incumbent maintains responsibility for the processing, verification, and maintenance of personnel-related documentation and provides general office management support for the HR Officer, EFM Professional Associate and Senior HR Assistant.
