Prepare engineering drawings of moderately complex products and components. Work involves some creativity in basic design, with work performed independently and decisions made based on general practices and procedures. May instruct and/or train a small group of employees.

- Create Concept Designs that package into vehicle and can be serviced per customer requirements, while meeting production build capabilities.
- Create production designs and coordinate design and detail activities.
- Coordinate change control of designs, data and drawings
- Perform design studies in support of development initiatives, Supplier Tooling,
- Support Engineering activities including FMEA's, Prototype builds (customer and model shop), etc.
- Lead Dimensional Management Activities for Project
- Perform First order Engineering Analysis Activities (CFD, Mold flow, FEA)
- Responsible for verification of CAD data to data creation standards (Unigraphics and IMAN)
- Creation and Verification of Bill of Materials
- Create / maintain Design documentation
- Participate as a member of product development teams
- Mentor / coach other Designers and Engineers
- Create and maintain design productivity / quality initiatives such as: design guide material, standard library data, quality system procedures, etc.

Qualifications

Basic Required Skills

- Unigraphics V18 & iMAN V7
- 2D Drawing Communication Skills
- Plastic Part Design
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Good written and communication skills

Basic Preferred Skills

- Engineering Analysis Tools (CFD, Mold flow, FEA)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes

Education & Training

- Bachelors of Science in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent experience.
