CARE International is a leading development and humanitarian charity supporting the poorest communities in 87 countries around the world. Our aim is to bring sustainable and innovative solutions to complex poverty issues and last year we directly supported 82 million of the world’s poorest people.

We have one of the most established and strong portfolio of programmes and have a compelling story to tell about our development and humanitarian work. Over the last 25 years CARE International in the UK has been steadily growing our voice and influence but we are about to embark on a new ambitious communications strategy which will see us focus our efforts on key audiences, themes and channels in order to generate significant cut through and impact.

As Head of Communications you will lead our profile raising efforts and will support your team to generate coverage across traditional and new media channels. You will also lead our brand, digital and publications content production and ensure consistency of key messages and impact, together with supporting our public fundraising and advocacy efforts.

We are looking for a senior and dynamic professional who has significant experience in leading a major communications function. The successful candidate will hold a degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent expertise, and have experience of media relations work in an international context.
