Islamic Relief is seeking a Fundraising Manager who is responsible for leading a regional fundraising team that identifies, cultivates, and stewards major and minor gifts. The regional fundraising team initiates, maintains and grows donor relationships to maximize their long-term value and benefit to the organization. The Fundraising Manager reports to the East Coast Regional Community Development Manager and the Regional Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-today community fundraising operations of the Northeast Regional Office
- Manage the activities of the Development Coordinators, Event Coordinator and other fundraising staff
- Represent Islamic Relief USA to build relationships with other organizations
- Create and manage the regional community fundraising budget
- Create the regional fundraising calendar of events
- Cultivate and solicit donations from individuals, groups and organizations.
- Plan, organize and facilitate fundraising activities and events, such as dinners and concerts
- Respond to donor inquiries with accurate and timely information
- Engage with volunteers to organize and coordinate fundraising activities, as appropriate
- Conduct performance evaluation of staff under supervision
- Schedule and deliver presentations to audiences of diverse backgrounds
- Prepare and submit plans, projections and reports to the East Coast Regional Community Manager
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Three to five years of work experience in fundraising and management required
- Experience in working with grass-roots organizations and volunteers preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to interact effectively and communicate well with a variety of community members and people from diverse backgrounds
- Energetic with the ability to multitask
- Strong public speaking skills
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment, strong willingness to initiate deadlines and time frames for assignments and to follow up on all delegated activities
- Desire to work for humanitarian cause
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
