Environmental Lead – Northern Queensland

Cardno’s Environment Team works with the mining and resources sector, Commonwealth, State and Local governments, regional infrastructure providers, and landowners to deliver commercially viable and practical environmental management solutions, permits and approvals. We have an exciting opportunity for a suitability experienced person to join and strengthen us in the position of Environmental Lead – Northern Queesnland based in either our Townsville or Carins offices.

About the role:

This role presents a great opportunity for an experienced, motivated and capable individual with established industry contacts and the demonstrated ability to generate and undertake project work. We seek someone who has the ability to positively contribute to the Environment Team whilst possessing skills that allow them to work autonomously, develop and strengthen client relationships and work within a multi-disciplined office environment.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

• utilising your high level environmental expertise to deliver a range of projects;
• developing and maintaining strong client relationships; and
• contributing to an established reputation for a high standard of delivery.

We seek the right person for the role and will consider candidates from a variety of backgrounds provided the following minimum requirements are met.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in environmental science.
• Previous consultancy experience of 5-10 years.
• Demonstrated experience in working for the mining and resources, government, infrastructure, defence or development sectors.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, as you will liaise with clients and government agencies to ensure delivery of innovative solutions that meet client and broader community expectations.
