Duties
The Environment Adviser will provide leadership and guidance for the Agency in the area of environment management. The Adviser will work closely with the Principal Adviser for Rural Development and Environment, the Climate Change Adviser and relevant Directors. As a member of AusAID's Canberra team of expert advisers, the Environment Adviser will be expected to contribute to policy development as well as provide implementation advice and leadership.
Eligibility / Other Requirements
Candidates should be Australian citizens, however consideration may be given to non-Australian citizens. This is a security assessed role and you will be required to either have, or be able to obtain a security clearance at Negative Vetting 1 level. Candidates must have relevant technical and/or professional qualifications and substantial professional experience in environment or natural resource management policy and implementation in developing countries. Salary may be negotiated above the top of the range however this will be commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience. Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for a specified term This position is offered on an ongoing basis for Australian citizens. For non-citizens, the position is offered on a non-ongoing basis for an initial period of 18 months, with the possibility of an extension of 18 months.
