As a Manufacturing Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for implementing department initiatives involving production system controls and assist various support departments daily activities. Individual will provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting to production teams and use statistical analysis to investigate, gather, and analyze data to quickly identify root cause and implement proper corrective action. Candidate will regularly perform advanced technical analysis of processes, make design decisions, and provide labor and material quotes for systems that integrate with the manufacturing equipment. Continual focus on safety, quality, throughput, and maintainability of manufacturing systems is required.

GM Components Holding LLC is a fast paced, high production unionized facility that operates on multiple shifts. Candidate must be flexible and willing to work any shift assigned. Depending on production requirements candidate may be required to work extended hours and/or addition workdays. This position is not guaranteed to be on any shift.

- Proposes and evaluates manufacturing process and equipment for assigned areas of plant
- Directs the development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Evaluates expenditures for processes and/or equipment
- Provides technical assistance and training for assigned plant operations
- Regular contact with others outside the work group
- Works closely with production and maintenance personnel and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects
- Analyze tooling and equipment and select proper steps for solution
- Must be willing to work any assigned shift, work daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required

Qualifications

Basic Required Skills

- Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally
- Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
- Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
- Partners with senior management to analyze and solve issues
- Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
- Must have the ability to work flexible all shifts
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or 2 year degree with relevant work experience)

Basic Preferred Skills

- Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool - Intermediate level
- Position related experience - 5 years
- Previous experience as Controls Engineer
- Siemens or Allen Bradley experience
- Relevant auto industry experience
- Areas of expertise include: Manufacturing, Assembly Process, Welding, Molding, Fabrication
- Relevant training/certifications/licenses
