Responsibilities:

As an advocate of Shell's core business value sand principles the CSO (Civil, Structural and Offshore) Manager will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintaining a positive behaviour mindset for personal safety, other HSSE requirements, diversity and inclusiveness, Shell Business Principles, management system and legal compliance
  • Leading ,developing,and training new technical professionals
  • Managing the CSO Engineering team in the Americas; which includes civil & structural engineering, coastal & marine engineering, geotechnical engineering, metocean and arctic, and hydrodynamics specialties
  • Developing a resource strategy to meet business demands
  • Managing appropriate levels of recruitment and staff assignment and movement
  • Driving effective regional resource and project management, in line with global business priorities, ensuring the development and health of the CSO skill pool
  • Driving the CSO discipline initiative for the Americas including standards, training programs, technical authority and assurance processes
  • Engaging with business, projects, operations and other stakeholders to develop business pipeline and align resources
  • Creating a results-oriented culture that enhances commercialization and encourages innovation for competitiveness
  • Developing relationships and partnering with Shell’s R&D organization or external entities to steer development
  • Ensuring that Knowledge, IP, Patents and Information are developed, managed and protected effectively in line with Shell Group standards
  • Ensuring consistency in application of external standards and integration with Shell standards and Shell CSO lead for technical input to those external standards
  • Assigning and maintaining the Technical Authorities for the CSO team
  • Managing key CSO engineering discipline stakeholder relationships with the various Shell businesses,and support business initiatives where CSO skills are needed. These include projects, LNGs,s hipping, C&P, etc.
  • Manage CSO’s operating budget


Requirements:
  • Graduate Degree (PhD a plus) in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Ocean, or Marine Engineering
  • Ability and flexibility to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
  • Minimum of 10 (ten) years of experience in engineering within the oil & gas industry, including work in Operating Units or Manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience working on extensive projects covering onshore development, LNG, manufacturing, offshore development and arctic development
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience in Global and International management
  • Demonstrated experience working on diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders demands and issues on a Global scale
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated experience with R&D delivery and management
  • Demonstrated experience in HSSE and quality management
