A place for learning, an opportunity for development.

Cranfield School of Management has a world-leading reputation in the research and teaching of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM). The renowned Cranfield Supply Chain Research Centre (SCRC) is the research centre that leads the field. Its research remit is a broad one encompassing all aspects of SCM, with particular strengths in supply chain agility, product-service systems, inter-organisational relationships and supply networks, freight transportation, and customer-responsive supply chains. The SCRC enjoys an unparalleled access to industry and is funded mainly through industrial partners with some government and research council funding.

Following a retirement, we are looking to appoint a full Professor of Supply Chain Management and Logistics to be the Head of the SCRC with a remit to lead and grow our research into all aspects of SCM and to manage a team of SCM researchers. You must have international stature in this field with a strong reputation and publishing track record in a specific aspect of the SCRC’s areas of expertise. You must also have a track record of very strong industrial engagement, reflecting the School of Management’s mission of ‘knowledge into action’.

It is expected that the successful candidate will already either have a proven track record in attracting research funding and/or have extensive relevant industrial research experience, and have achieved an international reputation in his or her field. He or she will be expected to provide research leadership in their field, to teach at Masters level, to supervise projects at Masters and Doctoral level, to generate external research funds and to develop and grow executive development courses.
