Oxfam GB has been working in emergency relief and development in Ethiopia since 1962. Oxfam works in different regions of Ethiopia including Somali, Afar,Oromiya and Amhara . Oxfam has drought response and preparedness projects as part of its pastoral and agricultural programmes.

Internally, Oxfam GB in Ethiopia focuses on economic empowerment of pastoralist and smallholder farmers through strategies that improve agricultural and livestock commercialization for poor rural producers. Oxfam's programme adopts a 'one programme approach' integrating development, humanitarian and policy work within all aspects of programme design, implementation and evaluation.

This post will work closely with all programmes and based in Addis with limited travel to field programme sites. He/ she will report to the Country Director and work in close coordination with the Regional Funding Team in HECA.

The Role

This role will lead on the planning, coordination, securing and management of restricted and unrestricted income to enable Oxfam in Ethiopia to deliver on the country strategy (JCAS) . The role provides expertise on managing our resource base and relationships with key institutional donors. The post holder will strengthen the capacity of relevant staff across the country in the planning, securing and managing of restricted funds. It will also involve in resolving diverse and sometimes compels problems with impact in funding area and recommending changes to processes, collect information from a wide range of well-defined sources.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will have a strong background in funding and sound understanding of programme Cycle Management in Emergences and /or Development environment. A proven record of significant experience-based skills in planning, securing and managing funds from institutional donors and UN agencies. Your interpersonal and relationship building skills will be excellent, as would your ability to proactively drive processes forward and deliver real change innovatively. This is an advisory role hence the post holder will be conscientious and able to facilitate simplification of complex issues while working with colleagues in line with Oxfam GB's policies and procedures. You will be good at networking and influencing; representing Oxfam to the donor community. You should be able to represent the programme in professional manner as well as be sensitive to cultural differences and be able to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts., and willing to travel on short visits at short notice . Fluency in written and spoken English is essential for this position.
