Consumer Electronics Product Line Manager

Role Summary
• Work with start up companies and partners in the area of consumer electronics.

• Interface with R&D resources to help bring consumer product ideas into programme portfolio.

• Scout for new products and generate requirements for future products.

• Build relationships with venture team and partners to create a channel for new product ideas in Vodafone.

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and system engineering teams in Vodafone and act as the primary liaison with R&D Team in China
• Solid background in with over 10 years experience in product development in wireless communications and consumer electronics.

• In-depth knowledge of software design (applications/drivers/OS etc).

• Knowledge of chip vendors, hardware vendors, etc.

• Good understanding of software/hardware platforms for consumer electronics (digital cameras, NAS, media centres, gaming)

• Solid understanding the end-to-end system design, steps, process and pushing prototypes to production

• Experience with taking products from concept to commercial launch.

• Passion and understanding for user experience and interface design.

• Understanding of consumer electronics ecosystem and related technologies (codec standards, DLNA, device management, DRM etc)

• Track record of entrepreneurial participation i.e., has founded or worked for start ups in the past.

• Bachelors Degree or higher in EE or computer science.

Technical Expertise Essential
• University degree
• Extensive experience in the Telecommunications industry
