Consultancy - Appropriate Emergency Responses in Developed and Middle Income Countries

We are currently recruiting an experienced consultant to provide research on Save the Children's Role in Responding to Natural Disasters in Developed and Transition Countries.


Job Purpose


The purpose of this research is to:

1) Understand what the strengths/gaps are in developed and transitional country responses.

2)Understand what the most effective role is for Save the Children in these contexts.

3)Develop recommendations for best practice and tools to aid future response in both contexts.

A concurrent research project into psychosocial and protection programming in developed contexts will feed into this study.

This research is the first stage of a three-part learning process, which in total will take up to 24 months. The second stage is to implement the recommendations of this research, by developing tools or writing manuals. The third stage is to test these new approaches in developed and transitional responses for impact measurement. This ToR will only cover the first stage. See the attached management plan for more information on stages two and three.


Expression of Interest Proposal

Interested parties are requested to submit an Expression of Interest for the consultancy, addressing the following key issues:

*Experience in the specific thematic area
*A more detailed project plan of how they would take forward the consultancy
*Risks and assumptions
*Budget
