Oxford - Full Time (36 hours per week)

For more than 60 years Oxfam has worked hard to end poverty and injustice. We've provided aid in the wake of devastating crises, delivered life-changing development programmes and become recognised as a leader in the campaigning field. But while we're proud of what we've achieved, we still have a lot to do. And in this high profile role, you'll help us take more strides towards a fairer world.
The role: As a globally recognised NGO with affiliates in some 15 countries, the Oxfam name carries enormous weight on the international stage. We're an established, successful organisation whose influence can make the difference between life and death. And as such, communications is a hugely important part of what we do. Taking responsibility for our communications across the board is therefore a major challenge - one that will see you lead the development of our comms, media and PR strategies, drive our digital vision in both established and emerging channels and roll-out a whole new global identity. This will involve motivating and inspiring senior staff across Oxfam - actively managing direct reports and influencing key decision-makers throughout our international network. However, there's more to this position than enhancing and integrating our global brand. As part of our Corporate Management Team, you'll make decisions that will drive the future of Oxfam and have a positive impact on the lives of millions of people all over the world.
What we're looking for: An exceptional and highly professional talent within your field, you'll know what it takes to integrate communications on a global scale and be driven by the potential to change lives and overcome poverty. As well as having extensive brand experience and a well-developed knowledge of current and emerging communication trends, you'll understand the powerful role media, public relations and politics play in societies the world over and be confident driving innovations in digital communication. Indeed, your reputation for delivering creative solutions and thinking strategically will command respect from the teams you lead, inspire trust at every level of our own organisation and influence senior stakeholders outside Oxfam too.
About Oxfam: A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There's enough wealth in this world to go around. It's not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It's unjustifiable. It's not just their problem. It's ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we're looking for yours.
