The Blair-Elumelu Fellowship Programme

We are also seeking to recruit the second Blair-Elumelu Fellow to work with the National Investment Commission (NIC) in Liberia. The individual will join this exciting new partnership, and will work to strengthen the capacity of the NIC to attract private investment and improve the business climate so as to further Liberia’s economic transformation. In addition to the AGI core competencies, we are looking for individuals with experience in delivering organisational change and/or investment promotion.

The Blair-Elumelu Fellowship Programme is a joint initiative of The Tony Elumelu Foundation and the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative. The first Blair-Elumelu Fellow is in place in the AGI programme in Sierra Leone, supporting the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency.

We expect to recruit again to the Liberia programme in the spring for positions to start in July-August – at that stage we expect to be recruiting up to three Strategic Advisors to develop capacity in the ministries which cover the Government of Liberia’s priority programmes. The sector areas we are most likely to support are Agriculture, Energy, and Infrastructure. In addition to the AGI core competences sector experience will be desirable but not necessary.
