ASSISTANT REGISTRAR UNIVERSITY OF GHANA

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the position of ASSISTANT REGISTRAR, Registrar’s Offices, Central Administration.

Position: Assistant Registrar is the entry point for a career in University Administration. It involves management at Schools, Faculties, Colleges, Institutes and in the Central Administration of the University. Although there may be some specialist areas such as University Planning, Public Affairs and Human Resource Management, all Assistant Registrars are expected to be able to operate in any area of University Management.


Reporting Lines: The Assistant Registrar ultimately reports to the Registrar, who is the Chief Operating Officer of the University, but in many cases reports through a Dean, Director or Deputy Registrar in the first instance.


Qualification/Experience

A good first degree and either a Masters Degree or an equivalent professional qualification, with a minimum of two years’ relevant experience.

Skills required: Successful candidates must have the following attributes:

  • highly motivated individuals who can work with little supervision,
  • good writing and communication skills,
  • good human relations skills,
  • high sense of integrity and morality,
  • ability to work to tight schedules,
  • good analytical skills
  • appreciable level of computer literacy.

The selection process will involve the following stages:

1. Initial short listing
2. Screening tests
3. Interview
